Purpose: Markov Process Simulator (MPS) is a RAM-C analysis program. its optimal design alternative decision, which is achieved by analyzing the effect of RAM parameters on the life cycle cost using the Markov-Monte Carlo technique, needs to be verified.
Methods: The OPUS Suite of Systecon, an advanced program used by defense companies to verify the program, is used to model the communication and identification system of helicopters as well as to calculate the failure number, operation availability and life cycle cost among the output values of the MPS and OPUS Suite.
Results: When comparing the results of the MPS and OPUS Suite, the number of failures was less than one, the error of operation availability was 1.6%, and the life cycle cost error was 3.9%.
Conclusion: The results of the MPS analysis showed a very small error compared to the results of the OPUS Suite, which is widely used in the defense field of major developed countries as well as Korea and verified the validity of the MPS.
