The purpose of this study is to suggest theoretical evidences for objective and homogeneous education while breaking free of apprenticeship as a method imitating traditional moves of Chen style Taiji. For doing this, the analysis results on Chen style Taiji’s four forms based on six development models, one of the basic principles devised by Irmgard Bartenieff were as follows. First, Diamond Pounds Mortar through the development model was analyzed as movements related to connection between head and tailbone and homolateral connection. Second, Lazy Tying Coat was analyzed as movements related to connection between upper body and lower body and homolateral connection. Third, Six Sealing Four Closing was analyzed as movements related to connection between center and peripheral part and connection between head and tailbone. Fourth, Upper Arm Rolls was analyzed as movements related to connection between head and tailbone and homolateral connection. Generally, it is reported that Taiji training has a positive impact on mind and body. However, extensive studies from the more objective and scientific views are necessary. Thus, studies should consistently be conducted to improve understanding of Chen style Taiji’s movements in effective aspects and to develop advanced models on Chen style Taiji education. This study is expected to reconsider effective expansion and practicality of Taiji as preparing the foundation for spreading and developing Chen style Taiji.
