Disease survey of cultured catfish Silurus asotus was conducted by using the basic data in Chungcheong and Jeolla provinces during 2004~2018. The results can be used for disease prevention measures for the fish in the aquaculture industry. In this study, twelve kinds of pathogens and four kinds of environmental diseases were detected: 9.9% of viral disease (channel catfish virus, iridovirus), 25.9% of bacterial disease (Aeromonas spp., Edwardsiella spp., Flavobacterium sp., Streptococcus sp.), 44.4%of parasitic disease (Trichodina sp., Acanthamoeba, Gyrodactylus sp., Ichthyophthirius sp.), and 19.8% of environmental disease. The major viral pathogens were CCVD (87.5%). Aeromonas spp. (33.3%) and Edwardsiella spp. (33.3%) were detected as the major infectious bacterial disease. The infection rate of Trichodina sp. (37.2%) was the highest among parasitic diseases.
