This study aimed at identifying variables affecting leadership, as perceived by multicultural and non-multicultural family adolescents attending an elementary school in a rural area. The major findings drawn from this study are as follows: (i) the level of leadership and it’s sub-factors, such as problem solving, interpersonal relationship, credibility, intrapersonal relationship, and communication, were higher as perceived by non-multicultural family adolescents than multicultural family adolescents; (ii) regression analysis revealed that self-esteem most significantly affected leadership and the six sub-factors in both multicultural and non-multicultural family adolescents; (iii) variables affecting leadership and it’s six sub-factors significantly was different in between multicultural and non-multicultural family adolescent. Considering the results of this study, I suggest several plans for improving the leadership of multicultural and non-multicultural family adolescents in rural areas. I further discuss several implications and conclusions, based on the data generated from this study.
