During the last several decades, Korea has experienced a drastic change in its social /economic structures, the scope and the nature of this change was a highly condensed one which western world experienced over almost four centuries. In order to cope with the rapid frequent change in overall enviroment, especially, the shifting from agricultural society into mamufacturing one, importance of technical high school education has been emphasized as a very primary vocational education /training. This paper ① reviews the past development of industrial structure and views further changes expected in genral and in Korea as well. ② define the problems and shortcomings of current technical high school education Then based on the above, try to propose a necessary action item list summarized as below : a. Programs and Curriculum shall be reviewed and reformed in such a way that practical ability to perform the actual job requirement in the industry can be developed rather than lecturing theory on the blackboard. b. "Professionalism" and "Beruf" mind much more emphasized. c. Number of years of practical experiences in industrial community shalll be counted as same number of years of educational experiences in technical high school, in order to secure well qualified and experienced technical high school teachers. d. Basic skills concerning software and microeletronics shall be taught to the students in every and all department regardless of their majors. e. Attitude training /education such as : "Whatever you do, do it carnestly, precisely according to the preset rules" then, "Reconfirm the result if it was done right or not". "Always, try to find if there is any room for further improvement". Shall be integrated into every and all curriculums and programs.
