The Seoul Residents Autonomy Council was introduced to encourage local residents to participate in the project in a more democratic and effective way, breaking away from the government-led administration. In this study, we wanted to present basic data on the operation status of the Seoul Residents Autonomy Council by looking at the current status of the Seoul Residents Autonomy Council three years after the full-fledged introduction of the Seoul Residents Autonomy Council and checking if there were any operational issues. The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, the composition of the members of the Seoul Residents Autonomy Council is mostly elderly, so measures are needed to induce participation from young people who have low participation. Second, the Seoul Residents Autonomy Council project was able to confirm that distinctive projects were implemented by reflecting the diverse preferences of local residents by region. Third, although most of the budget for the projects of the Seoul Residents Autonomy Council is funded by the Gu, it is necessary to diversify the methods of raising funds for the operation of the Seoul Residents Autonomy Council.
