In Korea, animal welfare certification system is divided into farm certification and livestock product certification, but depending on the department that certifies, it is certified and marked with various types of animal welfare certified livestock products, eco-friendly certified livestock products, and livestock products produced at HACCP certified farms. This is causing confusion in the labeling and certification of animal welfare livestock products by consumers. The standards for certification differ depending on which part of each certification system is focused on such as breeding area for each livestock type, breeding management method, disease management, etc., but many parts are overlapping, which causes confusion and difficulties for consumers. Therefore, in order to improve this problem, we investigate how livestock certification is operated in foreign countries. Related materials and data were collected through the Internet domestic and foreign laws and regulations, or literatures and were analyzed.
