The purpose of the study is to investigate the influence of narcissistic traits to interpersonal relationship and spiritual formation among Korean Christian young adults. This research, which examines the median effect of spiritual formation, was conducted according to the quantitative research method. A multiple regression analysis and structural equation model were used to verify this study. A survey of 500 young adults of 10 Korean churches nationwide was conducted, 446 responses were statistically processed, and the results were analyzed. SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0 were used to analyze the data, and the bootstrapping method was used to verify the significance of the mediated effects of positive spiritual formation.
We found that the narcissistic traits of young adults have a significant influence on spiritual formation and interpersonal relationships. We also found that the healing and recovery of narcissistic traits enhances the positive spiritual formation of young adults and reduces interpersonal relationship difficulties. Implications for research on narcissistic traits of young adults, as well as pastoral counseling practice for them, are discussed.
