Lilium longiflorum ‘White Tower’ is highly popular due to white, upward flowers and growth habits, while L. hansonii in mountain Ulleongdo Island in Korea possess exceptional colorful and downward flowers. Developing interspecific hybridization between L. longiflorum and L hansonii is very difficult due to different blooming times and poor viability. However, using the cut style method the breeding success can be increased. This research was conducted to find out the phenotypic and genetic diversities among L. longiflorum and L. hansonii and their interspecific F<SUB>1</SUB> hybrids developed in the greenhouse at Kyungpook national university, Korea using genomic, 5S, and 18S ribosomal DNAs markers. Four groups of F<SUB>1</SUB> hybrids flower with specific phenotypic attributes have been developed through interspecific L. longiflorum × L. hansonii hybridization.
