Introduction and Background
Recent research results have reported that the outcome of fracture maintenance is good when endosteal strut graft is performed. We would like to suggest a way to maintain the reduction more easily and improve the prognosis by using the fibular head strut allograft. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the result of treatment for the comminuted proximal humeral fracture by using fibular head allograft to prevent fixation failure with a locking plate.
Material and Method
48 patients were included in the study. We undertook a retrospective comparison of two methods of fixation, using a locking plate and with a fibular head allograft (FH group) and with a fibular shaft allograft (FS group) for the treatment of these fractures.
