Background
Because the role of adjuvant chemotherapy for pT3N0 gastric cancer after curative gastrectomy has been controversial, its application was fluctuated according to the surgeons’, oncologists’ or patients’ preferences. Therefore, this study evaluated oncological outcome of T3N0 gastric patients according to the adjuvant treatment status.
Methods
Between 2000 and 2018, 1117 patients underwent radical gastrectomy for pT3N0 gastric cancer and were divided into two groups: surgery alone group (N=438) and adjuvant CTx group (N=679). Chronological changes of adjuvant chemotherapy and various chemotherapeutic regimens were evaluated and disease-free survivals were compared in the two groups. Risk factors for tumor recurrence were analyzed.
