This study aimed to analysis the benefit of chemoradiation therapy (CRT) versus adjuvant chemotherapy (chemo) alone on oncologic and perioperative outcomes of patients with extremely low rectal cancer requiring abdominoperineal resection (APR).
Material and Method
Between March 2001 and Dec 2016, 94 patients who underwent APR for low rectal adenocarcinoma (anal verge <5cm) with clinical stage II and III (clinical T3/4, N -/+) were retrieved from a retrospective database. 52 patients were received adjuvant chemo alone after surgery and 42 patients was received neoadjuvant CRT or postoperative CRT.
Results
