Background/Aims
Surgical procedure for hilar cholangiocarcinoma is extremely complex, and incurs a high risk of postoperative morbidity and mortality. Minimally invasive approach is still in its infancy. Expecially, reconstruction procedure is challenging after hepatectomy with caudate lobectomy and hilar hepatic duct resection. Here, we introduce a video demonstration of pure laparoscopic approach for early hilar cholangiocarcionoma.
Methods
A 53-years-old female was visited our hospital with abdominal pain. Image studies suggested intrahepatic choledocholithiasis. Endoscopic choledochoscopy and biopsy revealed high grade dysplasia on hilar bile ducts. The patient underwent pure laparoscopic left hepatectomy with caudate lobectomy and common bile duct resection. Three 12-mm trocars and two 5-mm trocars were used.
