In this study, 621 male and 1210 female middle school students in the Seoul metropolitan area, Gyeongsang area, Jeolla area, and Jeju-do were surveyed.
For this study, data was collected through a qustionnaire and subsequently analyzed using SPSS/PC Window V21.0. This analysis led me to a conclusion, which I will now present.
First, difference in perception of student health assessment by gender showed statistically significant differences in health and fitness perceptions, but no statistically significant differences in interest in PAPS, utilization of PAPS measurements, and satisfaction with PAPS measurements.
Second, difference in perception of student health fitness assessment (PAPS) by grade showed statistically significant differences in health and fitness awareness, interest in PAPS, utilization of PAPS measurement results, and satisfaction with PAPS measurement results.
Third, difference in perception of PAPS by school type revealed statistically significant differences in health and fitness awareness, interest in PAPS, utilization of PAPS measurement results, and satisfaction with PAPS measurement results.
Fourth, difference in perceptions of student health assessment (PAPS) by school size showed statistically significant differences in health and fitness perceptions, but no statistical differences in interest in PAPS, utilization of PAPS measurements, and satisfaction with PAPS measurements.
Fifth, difference in perceptions of student health assessment (PAPS) by region showed statistically significant differences in health and fitness, interest in PAPS, utilization of PAPS measurement results, and satisfaction with PAPS measurement results.
In order to raise middle school students" awareness of PAPS, teachers at schools will need to build classes based on students" levels and implement various programs. The city and provincial education offices should continue to support the programs that promote girls" physical education. In addition to prevent students from becoming less aware of PAPS due to COVID-19, a lot of effort will be needed to establish practical and interesting online classes and blended learning systems at city and provincial education offices and schools.
