Actinidia arguta is an indigenous species of Korean kiwifruit. Genetic diversity could be increased by using the A. arguta as kiwifruit breeding materials and the royalties could be decreased. Kiwifruit is a dioecious species and could not distinguish the female and male during the juvenile period. The marker for sex determination could increase the efficiency of kiwifruit breeding. In this study, cleaved amplified polymorphism sequence (CAPS) marker was developed for sex determination in A. arguta. The previously performed genotyping-by-sequencing reads were re-aligned in A. chinensis genome (genotype Red5) and 40,099 SNPs were extracted in this study.
