Without any prior notice or experience of the disease, we had to handle a fast spreading unknown one, COVID 19, in the year of 2020. We did not have any appropriate strategies to handle this disease in many cases. Especially in the workplaces, there was no guidelines for providing safe work environments for office users under the COVID 19 in the beginning. Korea CDC provided fundamental guidelines in work places later and the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor updated the management guidelines in workplaces. The most recent one released in December of 2020 emphasized the separated zoning between the individual and group tasks, installing partitions between individual work spaces, natural ventilation, strict cleaning and hygiene rules before and after work time, and work from home policy. To gain the expert input, this study investigated interior design professionals opinions about these guidelines and asked their input to improve the work environment and secure the health and wellbeing of office users. In addition, the study projected such considerations as tele-office system, hybrid work culture, and interior finishes and surface materials to prevent spreading the germs and viruses, and ceiling and windows to improve the air flow.
