This study provides primary data for establishing policies to activate the introduction of smart factories by empirically analyzing the acceptance and adoption factors of such factories, which will be the essence of the paradigm shift of the manufacturing industry, for employees of marine equipment suppliers. To achieve this aim, 180 questionnaires were randomly distributed to employees engaged in domestic marine equipment suppliers. The responses were sufficiently complete to be included in the frequency, exploratory factor, reliability, and correlation analyses, and multiple linear regression using SPSS 18.0. Government support, top management entrepreneurship, productivity improvement expectations, and financial readiness, which were selected as important factors, were found to have a positive effect on the acceptance and adoption intention of smart factories from the marine equipment suppliers’ perspective. Based on the results, effective government support is needed to facilitate the introduction of a smart factory for marine equipment suppliers.
