The current study compared the level of satisfaction beauty students felt with their major to the amount of career preparation they had engaged in to determine if there were any correlations between satisfaction and preparation. A total of 235 university students majoring in beauty living in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do were given a questionnaire pertaining to both level of satisfaction with their major and amount of career preparation. A frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability verification, one-way analysis of variance, correlation analysis, and simple regression analysis were conducted. Results indicated that amongst beauty students, satisfaction with their major choice positively impacted career identity, a sub-factor of career choice behavior. Additional analysis revealed that as satisfaction with their major increased, career exploration among beauty students was higher, indicating a positive effect of major satisfaction on the exploration sub-factor of career preparation behavior. Within the factor of career preparation behavior, the sub-factor of career decision was positively correlated with satisfaction with major choice. Taken together, findings from this study suggest that among students who pursue beauty as their major, satisfaction with the educational content in major subjects is positively impacted by amicable professor-student relationships, peer relationships, senior-junior relationships, external and internal brand awareness of the university and major, and vision of the future of the beauty industry.
