This paper discusses the social problems of Chinese painting and calligraphy from the perspectives of history, culture and painting and calligraphy. First of all, it is pointed out that painting and calligraphy are social. The sociality of Chinese painting and calligraphy refers to the social function and connotation of Chinese painting and calligraphy. That is to say, Chinese painting and calligraphy is an integral part of social life, existing in all aspects of social life and affecting all aspects of social life. The sociality of Chinese painting and calligraphy is basically reflected in the fact that Chinese people's social life is inseparable from calligraphy and painting. The paper then analyzes the social characteristics of painting and calligraphy from the process of Chinese social evolution, including "jin shang yun", "tang shang fa", "song shang yi", "yuan Ming shang state", "qing people shang change", "today people shang new". The paper also focuses on the social influence of calligraphy and painting from the perspective of its sociality. For example, painting and calligraphy in China become one of the important media of social public opinion direction, calligraphy and painting fully involved in all aspects of social life, calligraphy and painting embodies the spirit of the Chinese people, become the Chinese painting and calligraphy of cultivate one's morality raises a gender, the main method of self-improvement, with Chinese characters as the carrier of art, culture is increasingly affecting China and the world. The article also points out the calligraphy and painting the future direction of interpersonal and social impact, emphasizes the future painting and calligraphy activities will be further carried out in different levels of the Chinese society, Chinese painting and calligraphy will further show the situation of flowers, will further toward the traditional and modern, nation and the world, the direction of integration of universality and individuality, and will further towards the world and forming the international influence of the Chinese culture.
