Utilizing the Korean National Youth Policy Institute (NYPI) dataset collected in 2017, this study explored the cultural intelligence of students in South Korea and examined the differences based on gender, school level, and overseas experience. It also analyzed whether variables such as awareness of global issues and identity as global citizens affected the level of cultural intelligence in these students. The results showed that there were gender differences in identification as global citizens and cultural intelligence. As for school level differences, elementary school students, on average, had a higher sense of global citizenship than high school students, but a lower level of awareness of global issues compared to middle and high school students. The study also found that awareness of global issues was a predictor of higher cultural intelligence with a significant interaction effect between awareness of global issues and identity as global citizens. Implications for the Christian community are discussed.
