Nafion is eco friendly and used in proton exchange membrane fuel cells. The structure of Nafion has a sulfonic acid group at the end of the chain. Sulfonic acid groups are hydrophilic and form ion clusters around water molecules. Ion clusters act as passages for ions to move.
