There are about 1011 CFU/g microorganisms living in the human intestine. Human intestinal microorganisms, which have symbiotic relationships with their hosts, play an important role in human health. Among various gut microorganisms, Bifidobacterium breve, well-known probiotics, has antimicrobial activity against human pathogens and immuno-stimulating abilities. Also, the abundance of Akkermansia muciniphila, potential probiotics, has a negative correlation with overweight, obesity, untreated type 2 diabetes, or high blood pressure.
