This study analyzes factors affecting the purchase of rice processed foods to help to promote rice consumption. The data used in this study are agri-food consumer panel survey data of RDA(Rural Development Adminstration). For the study, the random effect panel tobit model based on the corner solution responses was used for empirical analysis. Mainly, this study focus on the households characteristics and demographic characteristics for respondent and identify some interesting findings in this article. Especially, estimation results show that households who have more infants spend less money to buy rice processed foods(compared to those who don’t have infants). While, households who have students spend more money to buy rice processed foods. In the short term, it is expected that the rice processed foods market size will expand mainly around convenience stores. It is necessary to continuously develop various rice processed foods, targeting the student group. In addition, it is expected that this article make an academic contribution in that the characteristics between corner solution responses and censored data are clearly described in the application for tobit model.
