In this study, the influence of stress redistribution on the hydrogeological properties of the fractures around a borehole was evaluated numerically and experimentally. For the numerical experiments, we simulated the change of fracture apertures for the cases of installing a 3 inch diameter vertical borehole in an underground research facility and expanding its diameter from 3 to 4 inches. To confirm the results of the numerical experiments, field tests such as geophysical logging and hydraulic tests were carried out before and after expanding the diameter of the test borehole, BDZ-1, installed in Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) Underground Research Tunnel (URT), hereafter KURT, from 3 to 4 inch ... 전체 초록 보기
