This is the research paper on aesthetic image expression of documentary <Love>. The purpose of this study is to research visual elements of documentary images and to find out its role. <Love> is the documentary that celebrities provide voluntary service overseas. They visited children in developing countries and helped them. This documentary made a deep impression on views and brought influence to bear on many people. A documentary generally set a high value on contents of delivery and message in documentary. But I will place more emphasis on video images of documentary to express contents and message in this paper. I will analysis the documentary <Love> images on the basis of Zettl’s theory. Zettl suggested the major aesthetic image elements—light and color, space, composition and so on. —and how they are used in images of electronic media. I will suggest to identify aesthetic techniques and the reasons for their use, enabling views to analyze the message for its true communication value in documentary. Such aesthetic techniques will help us experience with heightened awareness and joy the mediated world on the screen as well as the real world in which we live. I will try to research applied media aesthetic technique of documentary <Love> images focusing on visual perception and communication with viewers.
