The purpose of this study is to understand the actor's process of constructing characters through painting, and to find a desirable method of character building from the perspective of cognitive neuroscience. Actors' art is not unrelated to the development of cognitive science in that it deals with the mind and body of human being, which is the core research subject of science and technology. In particular, the development of cognitive neuroscience leads to the explication of the brain's actions, explaining the relationship between the human brain and mind and body. This research area plays a crucial role in understanding the existing method of constructing characters from the scientific point of view, thereby encouraging a new paradigm in the actor's art field. This study presented a new method of building actors' characters through cognitive neuroscientific understanding of the process of character building. The process of recognizing the form of painting by the actor and expressing it in the body is performed by the unconscious process of the brain. The important thing in this process is that it is entirely by mirror neurons, so that the actor must be free from active imitation. By understanding the process by which images are created by mirror neurons and how the body changes, we will be able to develop a broad understanding of the actors' character building.
