초록· 키워드

As the number of people spending time alone increases, consumers are involving consumption activities by themselves. Following this trend, the number of people who dine alone at a restaurant increased, and solo-diners has been highlighted by restaurant industry practitioners and academic researchers. This study was designed to identify influential factors on solo-diners’ binge eating tendencies and revisit intentions. By collecting data from restaurant customers who have a recent experience of solo-dining, this study found that positive mood alleviation, food quality, and service quality reduced solo-diners’ binge eating tendencies. However, negative mood alleviation increased the binge eating tendencies. For solo-diners, positive mood reinforcement and food quality increased revisit intentions. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed in detail.
