Since 2000s, Teens' Love(TL) Comics has emerged as a new subgenre of Japanese Women's Comics focusing on sexual relationship between male and female protagonists on the basis of romantic love in shojo-manga styles, which mainly involves female comics artists and readers. In this article, I argue that TL comics as women's comics including sexual expressions, have created a new genre grammar, codes and rules inherent in itself, while it shares a variety of characteristics of Shojo Comics, Redicomi, and Boys' Love through analyzing Fuyumori Yukiko's TL comics. By considering the definition and characteristics of TL comics as a genre involving sexual expression for women, and analyizng Fuyumori's works on the basis of these characteristics, I explore how successfully Fuyumori can express her feminist ideas and critical messages against partriarchal Japanese society in her works, while fully integrating the genre grammar, codes and characteristics of TL comics as a popular entertainment.
