The end of Cold War and the development of information communication and transportation have reorganized the structure of the world, spreading globalization and eliminating borders between countries. Economy, energy resources, weather and environment, natural disasters, crimes, cyber security issues transcending borders have mass produced and furthermore embodied and broke down various threats in the area of non-conventional security. January 2012, the USA announced ‘National Strategy for Global Supply Chain Security’. The heart of the strategy is to protect national profits through the global supply chain and achieve economic growth for national prosperity. Emerging the Supply Chain Security (SCS) issue, which was generally considered in the fields of management and distribution, and considering it in the national security sphere, this report clearly shows that the domain of traditional national security which was centered in studying military threats such as wars, has now stretched out through the field of environment, energy and Human security. Keeping up with the US strategy for supply chain security, China is also preceding studies in this field. Both U.S and China is anxious in extending their sphere of power in the new realm of supply chain security with their political and economic power. However despite Korea should justly take notice of this relatively new issue, studies or reflection in policies in both government and public sector is yet unsatisfactory. Under the new system, now the world is coping not only in traditional economic exchange but also proactively discussing environmental security issues such as natural disasters or terrorism. Moreover, since the entire globe is now consolidating actual cooperation between states and seeking economical profits due to the expansion of supply security related technique market, both Korea and China should derive joint tasks to be dealt with and furthermore provide a cooperative scheme which corresponds to the international trend. Since the amity, Korea and China has actively exchanged social, cultural and economic matters, excluding politically sensitive topics such as history and North Korean Nuclear problem. However, there lies a restrictive limitation in schematic and periodic issues between the two nations. If the two successfully build up new cooperative system of supply chain security and consistently carries out cooperation, it may be possible to bring out good results from already-cooperative economy and furthermore create a new profitable platform of the two nations based on the growth power which enables sustainable development. Therefore, by proactively responding to the global trend of supply chain security and promoting mutual interchange and cooperation, Korea and China will double the benefits from economy and security.
