The aim of this paper is to compare the meaning and function between ney and kwun in Korean. Analysis results are as follows. ·Functionally both ney and kwun have the usage of the declarative sentence and the usage of interrogative sentence in common. ·Basically all of the usages in ney and kwun indicate the present preception which means what the speaker percepts at the time of speech and in the place of speech. ·Based on the observation of co-occurrence relation with exclamination, we can assume ‘Input Information Processing’. This paper, therefore, proposes that ney refers to ‘encountering unknown information’ and kwun refers to ‘linking unknown information to the related information’
