1. CONTENTS (1) RESEARCH OBJECTIVES- - The purpose of this study is to suggest the policy implications for the improvement in management activities and system in Industrial Complexes in Korea. (2) RESEARCH METHOD documentary survey, field study, interview, statistical analysis (3) RESEARCH FINDINGS Major implications for the improvement for industrial complexes are as followed: It is efficient to implement “the structure upgrading program” in industrial complexes to strengthen dilapidated complexes. The administrative management process should be simplified to meet customer oriented service in industrial complexes. The conventional management activities in industrial complexes should be standardized and integrated to improve efficiency. While the management activities are minimized, the supporting services should be strengthened. This means that the management institution needs to find its identity from customer oriented support measures not in adminstration. The desirable governance system, which allocates the industrial location policy to the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, the supervisory authority to the local government, and the management activities to the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, should be prepared in the long term. 2. RESULTS Enhancing the competitiveness of resident companies, the efficient management system of the existing complexes and allocation of proper authorities are cardinal.
