The purpose of this study is to examine the poetic space of Lee Yong-ahk's Poetry. For this purpose, this study investigated his poems as entire text and studied on his space imagination and attitude on reality of life. We can see ‘Buk-Dzok’ as major poetic space in his one of masterpieces, 「Buk-Dzok」, and his whole works. The focus points discussed above is as follows. First, ‘Buk-Dzok’ is used for meaning of the space as his hometown. Secondly, ‘Buk-Dzok’ is used for meaning of the space as a foreign land, which is located beyond his hometown, Thirdly, ‘Buk-Dzok’ is used for meaning of the space as a border between two countries and a frontier area in which inclusive of the meaning as a remote region. Especially, the border-consciousness and the frontier-consciousness are spreaded out in Lee Yong-Ahk's works, which poetry related to the hard times, Japans colonizatian, normally shows the sense of family-loss, hometown-loss, country-loss, and so on. These consciousness operate on his poetic space as centrifugal force from the ‘Buk-Dzok’ or centripetal force toward the ‘Buk-Dzok’.
