A great number of exhibition museums are being built in such a cultural age of today. The reality is that a compound space, which can carry out various programs, is preferred over a single space for the scale of the museums. A compound space includes auditorium or temporary exhibition area besides the permanent area of exhibition. However, due to the lack of systematic management and operation plan for operating such a compound space, its advantages such as the temporary exhibition area have not been properly utilized. Such problems are even more evident in public and private museums than national museums. Therefore, this study aims to present fundamental material for effectively operating the temporary exhibition area of the museums. The method used in the study is researching the satisfaction on exhibitions by surveying about 114 visitors, regardless of the ages, at the temporary exhibition held at the National Folk Museum of Korea. Moreover, by executing follow up survey in divisions of organization, individuals and family, research on the exhibition culture of the visitors and their interest on the exhibition method have been conducted as well. This study can be utilized as a data for minimizing trials and errors in planning and developing temporary exhibitions at the museums hereafter.
