This study was conducted to gain the basic data on the preservation and utilization of the traditional landscape of Geuman and Dorae villages of Naju city, Jeollanam-do. We have also investigated the current status and landscape, and the factors that hinder the landscape. Geuman village in Naju city was formed at the foot of Geumseongsan mountain in 1400s, consists of 12 small villages, and has a resident population of about 480. Dorae village was formed 700 years ago and has about 100 Hanoks in harmony with a population of 200 residents. The landscape resources of Geuman village had included Shin, Suk-ju"s birthplace, Hanok village, about 20 temples and pavilions, 8 scenic views of Geuman-dong, and Geuman Stonewall Walkway. Dorae village had old houses, stonewall walkway, small streams, village school in the Joseon Dynasty period and village pavilions designated as Folklore cultural properties. In the case of Geuman village, there were information facilities and sculptures of excessive size and design that did not match the landscape, the incongruity of old houses, modern facilities and village halls, the iron gates on stone walls and modern road pavement, and the murals that did not go well with the surroundings. In Dorae village, the modern simplified buildings at the entrance of the village, the primary color simplified water tank on the roadside of the village, the agricultural materials piled up along the roadside and alleys of the village, the information board for excessive facilities and design, the iron gates installed in stone walls, the modern simple facilities placed around the old house were causing incongruity. Therefore, in order to preserve the traditional landscape, revitalize a village tourism, and increase the brand value of the village, it was necessary to improve the factors pointed out as that damage the landscape.
