    Electrical Power Steering (EPS) is increasingly employed in automobile steering systems because it reduces the required steering effort by directly integrating the output of the electric motor into the steering system; However, as the usage of EPS increases, the demand to guarantee reliability and quality control of EPS systems from defect needs to be addressed. This paper presents the design and implementation of a data-driven defect monitoring system to examine EPS for defects and perform a steering evaluation. The defect test was conducted with a torque sensor, handwheel sensor, motor driver, and we utilized the handwheel angle and torque angle for the steering evaluation. The monitoring system was verified using a complete EPS test jig, aided by graphical user interface.
