This study began to find a way to widely use wood as a building material in Korea. As one of the methods, a survey using emotional vocabulary was conducted on apartment residents to find out how it is used as a finishing material for apartment remodeling and interior design. The main purpose of the survey is to compare wallpaper (which are the most commonly used indoor finishes in the past) and wood finishes. The research questions are as follows. First, is there a possibility of applying wood to apartment remodeling and interior design? Second, how is the competitiveness compared to wallpaper? Third, what is the relationship between user characteristics and wood preferences? As a result of statistical analysis including SD (Semantic Differential) analysis, the conclusions on the three research issues are as follows. Firstly, there is a possibility of application as a finishing material for wood in apartment remodeling. Secondly, it will be competitive in families with children. Finally, since there is a significant correlation, a detailed supply plan that reflects consumer characteristics will be needed.
