In modern times, light and lighting are established as an instrumental technology that has some effect on daily life beyond a simple functional aspect. At this time, only for the lighting used indoors, when the lighting is located in the indoor space, we want to study which lighting method and location where the lighting is installed reduce the limitations of space and give a sense of expansion. By utilizing the image of virtual space, it was confirmed which lighting method and location have a greater effect on the scalability of the space according to the type and location of the lighting in the indoor space. Through the three-step experiments, it was possible to derive a result that did not affect the change in the overall brightness of the indoor space. When using indirect lighting and pin lighting, the higher the illuminance, the higher the sense of expansion. The installation of indirect lighting in a vertical position gave a higher sense of expansion than other positions. When the installation of the pin lighting is diagonal, there is a result with a high sense of expansion. It is significant that the conclusion was reached that it was possible to propose a way to adjust the most effective lighting position according to the number of installations in a limited case of lighting installation. Since the results of this study can be applied to various indoor spaces, it is hoped that they can be widely used in various industrial fields.
