Purpose: This study was to study if treat a ‘fill in blanks for editorial and newspaper articles’ across two SCD(Subjective Cognitive Decline) group (experimental group 9, control group 9) would improve real-life communication skills in terms of word retrieval and by extension would improve there quality of life. This study was to study the efficacy on the training of ‘fill in blanks for editorial and newspaper articles’ across 18 participants with subjective cognitive decline (experimental group 9 and control group 9). Methods: K-BNT, DNT, COWAT, and Probe tests were performed in terms of word retrieval as pre-post tests to measure the effectiveness of intervention, and GICA and MMQ were performed to measure communication and memory in terms of subjective appeal. AndIn addition, to measure the satisfaction of the intervention effect, a satisfaction questionnaire was created and used. Results: As a result of conducting the training to fill in the blanks in editorial and newspaper articles, in the number of positive correct DNT responses (F<SUB>(1, 16)</SUB>=17.734, p=.001) and K-BNT reaction time (F<SUB>(1, 16)</SUB>=6.150, p=.025) appeared effect according to time,. and tThe Significant interaction effect according to the group and time point in the probe test was shown (F<SUB>(1, 16)</SUB>=9.751, p=.007). Also, Significant intervention effect was found in COWAT letter fluency (F<SUB>(1, 16)</SUB>=6.952, p=.018). Conclusions: Therefore, through this study, the blanking training according to the training of editorial and newspaper articles helps to solve the difficulty of word retrieval, and ultimately, it is possible to prepare a clinical basis for actively using this intervention method in the prevention of dementia.These results showed that the training of editorial and newspaper articles help to solve the difficulty of word retrieval and improve the quality of life. Furthermore, it is possible to prepare a clinical basis for actively using this intervention method in the prevention of dementia.
