This study compared the differences in the perception of marriage and couple roles and differences in the effect on the perception of marriage and couple role between women baby boomers and eco boomers using the first and the fourth wave Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families (KLoWF) panel data of the Korean Women's Development Institute. As a theoretical model, social learning theory was used to find out whether parenting attitudes affected the perception of marriage. Additionally, ecological system theory was used to check whether spouse relation variables affected the perception of marriage. The target populations of this study were baby boomers who were born between 1955 and 1963 and eco boomers who were born between 1979 and 1992 in the fourth wave of the KLoWF panel data of the Korean Women’s Development Institute. Since this study uses spouse variables, the target population was limited to only married persons. The sample size of this study is 1,118 for baby boomers and 328 for eco boomers. For data analysis t-test, χ2 and multiple regressions were used. Also, ANCOVA was used to find out whether differences were due to generation or age. According to the research results, marital satisfaction and satisfaction with household chores were higher for eco boomers than baby boomers. On the other hand, spouse relations and activities were higher for baby boomers. Both generations' parent relations affected traditional marriage values, which supports the social learning theory. Also, when a woman has positive relations with their spouse, it reduces the traditional marriage value; this supports the micro-system of ecological system theory.
