The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the fun of jumping rope, which clustered individual characteristics, on the self-directed learning of elementary school students, and to suggest strategies to induce voluntary actions of jumping rope participation in consideration of the individual characteristics of elementary school students. To achieve this, data were collected from 272 elementary school students located in Gyeonggi-do and Chungcheong-do using the survey tool completed by the pre-inspection, and the following results were obtained. First, the clusters considering individual characteristics were total 5 groups . 110 people in group1, 75 people in group2, 33 people in group 3, 27 people in group 4, and 27 people in group 5. Second, in group 1, interest and recognition among the fun of jumping rope, and in group 3, interest, health, and recognition, positively affected the motivation of elementary school students' self-directed learning. And the fun of skipping rope had a positive effect on the self-directed learning cognition of elementary school students by health and recognition in group 1, health in group 3, and interest and socializing in group 4. Among the fun of jumping rope, socializing in group 1 and interest in group 3 had a positive effect on the self-directed learning behavior of elementary school students.
