It is well known that Korean students have much difficulty in preparing a self-introduction letter in Chinese and educators also get into trouble in teaching how to write the self-introduction letter because of a lack of the material. The main purpose of this research is to provide useful information to Korean students and educators about the preparation of a self-introduction letter in Chinese. For the purpose of the research, 256 self-introduction letters written by Chinese students looking for a job were carefully analyzed based on the ‘Genre Analysis Method’. According to the analysis, students mention that they are well prepared for the job they apply for, and they try to show their excellent ability with very polite and well mannered expressions. A sentence pattern has a standard form using a type of letter with 600~700 words. It results in a lack of diversity and creativity. It means most of the Chinese self-introduction letters have similar structure and contents. The distinct feature of the content is that applicants have positive thinking and active character, and they are responsible for any duties. The result of this research is not only very helpful for Korean student to learn a method of Chinese writing, but will be used as a guideline when writing a Chinese self-introduction letter.
