This paper analyzes the crowding-out effects between public and private transfers as well as those between private transfers from the donor’s perspective. With a unique data set, this paper estimates donors’ transfer function, whereas previous studies have focused on that of recipients. This approach relates the theoretical model to the estimation in a more direct manner and facilitates the interpretation of estimation results. Donors’ transfers are regressed on public transfers, donor/recipient characteristics, and other donor children’s transfers. The coefficient estimate of public transfers is -0.1083, and that of other donors is - 0.6124. Other donor children’s transfers are significantly more likely than public transfers to crowd out donors’ transfers. Noteworthy is the strengthening of these effects over time
