The Purpose of This study is to examine in detail the desire of the mid aged women who want to express themselves and who have appearance complex by targeting mid aged women between the ages of 35 and 59, and examines which appearance management behavior is carried out the most in order to search for positive measures. Data was studied from December 20, 2011 to January 20, 2012. As for the data analysis method used, SPSS WIN 18.0 was used to conduct factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA (F-verification),correlation analysis and regression analysis. This study demonstrates that self-expression group that is aware of others’ perception and group with appearance complex oriented towards the reality are more interested in appearance management behavior. As for the weight control behavior, assertive self-expression, societal appearance complex and ideal-oriented appearance complex exert significant effect. In terms of the apparel related behavior, passive self-expression, self-centered self-expression, self-expression that is aware of others’perception, self-expression, assertive self-expression, societal appearance complex, self-aware appearance complex and ideal-oriented appearance complex exert significant effect. As for the hair related behavior, passive self-expression, self-centered self-expression and societal appearance complex exert significant effect. Meanwhile, in case of skin care behavior, verbal self-expression, self-expression that is aware of others’ perception and ideal-oriented appearance complex exert significant effect.
