On the whole, when a company faces with infringement litigation of intellectual property rights, relevant legal cost hits hundreds ofmillion. Hence a greatmany small andmediumfirms inKorea can not respond strongly against wrongful litigation, or they, small and medium firms duly abandon their intellectual property rights against infringement of intellectual property rights, patent rights and trademark fromcompanies in East Asia.
This study relates intellectual property rights and intellectual property insurance which is a non-life insurance. As time goes by, protectionism of intellectual property rights is rapidly strict, and netizen in the worldwide has a tendency to attack and defend their intellectual property rights in an era of information technology.
In this connection, this paper aims to suggest some ideas of expansion of intellectual property insurance(IPI) for the sakeof controllingrisksof infringement of intellectual property rights for one-man-business, venture-business andsmall andmediumfirm.
