This study aims to look into how Korean woman’s pole vault has developed through development process and historical meaning shown in the history of Korean woman’s pole vault and suggest possibility of development of Korean athletic sports. Results of study are as follows. Development Korean woman’s pole vault classified the time when player Choi, Yun-hee set a record of 3m10cm at the National Track and Field Championship Tournament which was recognized as an official record by the Korean Athletics Federation as ‘First woman‘s pole vault competition‘, which became an opportunity to herald the beginning of Korean woman’s pole vault. This study examined developmental process of Korean woman’s pole vault since that time by classifying the conclusion into Choi, Yun-hee and Ahn, Yu-rim’s break of the Korean record and entry into 4m in the ‘growth process of record of woman’s pole vault’,‘Appearance of Lim, Eun-ji (Advanced to the World Championship in Athletics) and comeback of Choi, Yun-hee’ in the transition process of Korean record and the time when Korean player secured a ticket to the London 2012 Olympic Games at the National Championships in Athletics 2011.
