This thesis will identify the research history related to the forced migration in the Soviet Union, and analyze its causes, and the process of forced migration in the North Caucasus, above all Chechen-Inguish people. Overall, this paper is composed of content that describes the causes of forced migration of North Caucasus people and demonstrates its historical nature and meaning. From the ruler"s point of view, forced migration was successfully completed. Stalin claimed that North Caucasus peoples, such as Chechens, Ingish, Karachays, Balkars, Kalmyks, Crimean Tatars, and Volga Germans betrayed their homeland, the Soviet Union, and colluded with the German army.
The Chechen-Ingish were forcibly deported on February 23, 1944. Therefore, there is a possibility that the forced migration incident can be interpreted as a kind of political terror inflicted by the ruler of a powerful country on minorities. Forced migration was an event that occurred in a totalitarian system that was carried out completely regardless of the political will of the Chechen-Inguish people.
