Background : The root of Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim. are used in traditional medicine of korea to treat cancer. among the chemical constituents are steroids, triterpnoids, cucurbitacin, citrulline, trichosantic acid. the important effective element is glucoprotein. This study was conducted to identify the morphological characteristics and variations level by site environment of native Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim. from costal and island region in South Korea. Methods and Results : Resources were collected in Hamyang-gun 1 area and Jeju-si is 7 area in December 2021 and 80 individuals were investigated. The collected area was surveyed for longitude and latitude and after collecting resources, it was placed on the laboratory test field to investigate its characteristics. The survey items were fruit shape, plant length, leaf length and leaf width, leaf number, fruit number, chlorophyll contents, root weight, yield.
