This study aims to explore the experiences of EFL student-teachers (STs) during their English teaching practicum, focusing on dialogical-self, transformative learning, and advantages·challenges·insights of teaching at a Korean university. The participants were twenty-six STs, and the data comprised their reflective journals. The reflections were analyzed using the ‘Intentional Content Analysis’ model. The findings revealed that 38% of STs viewed themselves as inadequate teachers, emphasizing the importance of being a fun and engaging facilitator. 92% emphasized confidence as crucial in teaching. Additionally, 50% experienced a shift in perspective after the practicum, with 31% considering pursuing a teaching career. The practicum, teacher roles, and lesson planning were great strengths, while interactions and managing class difficulty were noted as challenges. This study suggests enhancing practicum programs to enrich students" experiences and insights into teaching English.
