The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for setting the direction of the questions for the secondary school Home-Economics teacher appointment test to ensure their validity and reliability for evaluation purposes. The trends of questions in the field of clothing in the above examination from 2009 to 2023 were as follows: The number and distribution of questions in the area of clothing production and selection (C2.) that included practical capabilities were higher than those in the area of clothing materials and management (C1.). In the second section, about 26.5% of questions were on the aspect of clothing materials and management (C1.) and about 73.5% were on clothing production and selection (C2.). In the third section, about 42.7% of the questions were on clothing materials and management (C1.), and about 57.3% on clothing production and selection (C2.). In the area of clothing materials and management (C1.), the questions on understanding clothing materials (C11.) were the highest at about 45.8%, and questions on the type and characteristics of fabrics (C113.) were about 49.0% of the total. In the area of clothing production and selection (C2.), the highest percentage of questions (38.5%) was on clothing and household goods production (C22), and in particular, questions on Western clothing composition and sewing (C221.) were observed 11 times, excluding 2011, 2014, 2015, and 2019, and accounted for about 82.2% of the total points. In the 2022 revised curriculum, content elements related to smart clothing, meta-fashion, and up-cycling were added to the 「Home-economics」 clothing topic. It can be expected that the relevant content elements will be applied to the secondary school teacher appointment examination in the future.
