    This study aims to derive heat wave vulnerable areas in consideration of the elderly population in Daegu Metropolitan City and find out which areas need to be managed in the future. For empirical analysis, basic variables, temperature rise variables, and temperature drop variables were selected. The elderly population density, heat shelter density, and heat accumulation days were analyzed as basic variables, and the elevation, slope direction, and land use status were analyzed as temperature rise variables, and rivers and ecological naturalness were analyzed as temperature drop variables. Kernel Density was used in Arc GIS to find out the density of the elderly population, and the cumulative number of days of heat waves was analyzed using interpolation techniques (IDW). Other variables were also analyzed and finally overlapped. As a result of the analysis, most of the areas surrounding Jung-gu, Daegu Metropolitan City, were vulnerable to heat waves, and considering the elderly population, Dalseo-gu, Buk-gu, and Suseong-gu were the most vulnerable areas. It can be seen that preparations should be made around the area, which can be used for future decisions such as urban planning and welfare for the elderly.
